About Lindsey Rush, APRN-FNP

I have always been the type of person who likes to help others. Choosing a career in medicine was the best of both worlds; I get to help people while doing a job that interests me. I grew up in a very small town, so it comes naturally to always help my neighbors and treat everyone like my family. I truly love my specialty in immediate care. I am able to help people during their tough times and do everything in my power to improve their current situation. From respiratory illnesses to broken bones, I get to see a variety of cases every day. I do my best to make every patient feel comfortable in my presence. I don’t walk right into a room and instantly start a physical assessment. Instead, I strive to make a true human connection through conversation with patients so they know I truly care about their situation. This typically helps the patient feel more at ease and open to tell their problems. Through years of being a patient, I know how important listening to the patient can be. Active listening helps to get a full story on patients and create an accurate differential list. I also believe in caring for the whole person. It is very important to evaluate the patient’s mental health as well as physical health. I like to consider the patient’s support system, financial situation, and their environment outside of the clinic. Providing exceptional care for a person includes considering all of these aspects.
