About The Port Ministries
The Port Ministries is a Franciscan-inspired Chicago nonprofit providing hunger relief, free medical care, and community outreach to under-resourced neighbors in Back of the Yards, Englewood, and Gage Park. Founded by Father Augustin Milon, OFM, as a one-room soup kitchen on May 26, 1985, the ministry has grown into a network of services that meet the fundamental needs of mind, body, and spirit. The mobile Bread Truck delivers lunches into neighborhoods with no barriers and no wait, while the Community Clinic offers free medical attention to neighbors who would otherwise go without. Supporters can join the fall Harvest of Hope fundraiser.Services
