About Lauren Vahlkamp, PA-C
For Lauren Vahlkamp, PA-C, some of the most meaningful moments in healthcare happen when patients are in their most uncertain moments. With experience in emergency medicine, trauma, and urgent care, she enjoys being the steady presence patients can rely on when an unexpected illness or injury turns their day upside down.
“I really like being there for patients when it’s the scariest time for them,” Lauren says, recognizing that situations healthcare professionals encounter every day can feel overwhelming to patients and families.
With that in mind, Lauren focuses on listening, explaining what’s happening, and helping them feel more comfortable.
Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Central College before completing her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Milligan University. She later gained extensive acute-care experience at Johnson City Medical Center (a Level I Trauma Center in Tennessee) along with community hospital and urgent care settings.
She particularly enjoys hands-on care, including suturing, splinting, and treating acute injuries.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys being active with her husband and dogs, camping, reading, and spending time outdoors.
